Full Day Hikes
Anyone with two working legs can go for a nature hike without a guide, and
this is a good thing. Hiking in California is a wonderful way to
reduce stress, keep
fit and regain a sense of balance in one's life. But sometimes you may
be looking for something more. Perhaps you want to learn more about
the world you are hiking through. Perhaps you want to stretch your
comfort zone and want someone to lead the way. Perhaps you just want
to be pampered and have someone take care of all the details,
including setting out a gourmet picnic
lunch.
Our guided day hikes and eco tours of the Central Coast of California are for
those looking for a guide to enhance their experience. On these guided
naturalist hikes and eco tours you'll be surprised at how much you can
learn about California's Central Coast and how rewarding and fun it
can be. Forget those dry science lectures you remember from school.
Hiking in Central California with us you'll taste edible plants, smell
natural herbs
and spices and see birds and other wildlife. We let the season and
what pops up on the trail determine what we talk about and
experience.
Our Private Exclusive Tour Guarantee
All of our guided day hikes are guaranteed to be private
exclusive affairs. Once we meet you at the start of the tour, we are
yours for the rest of the trip. Our guides will cater to your personal
preferences and can change the tour (within reason) to fit your
needs. No one else will be on the tour. Our minimum booking size is
two people and our prices vary according to your group size. Treat
yourself to our personalized service!
| HIKING: Big Sur Ecotour (Family Friendly) |
 |
 |
Hiking in Central California is never more dramatic than along the Big
Sur Coast. Our guided day hike of Big Sur is a classic Big Sur
adventure. We explore misty redwood filled canyons, waterfalls, rocky
beaches and several intriguing historic sites, all in the span of one
day! Using our company vehicle, your guide will drive you between the
various trailheads, leaving you free to admire the stunning views of
the coast and watch for a glimpse of the majestic and rare California
condor or even whales.
At Julia Pfeiffer-Burns State Park you will take several short hikes;
visiting a secluded rocky cove, several historic structures and a
waterfall plunging to the sands below. Amongst these wonders your
knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide will relate stories behind the
scenes and lay out a gourmet picnic lunch
under the redwoods.

Later in
the afternoon explore Mill Creek, a secluded and magical canyon filled
with gigantic old growth redwoods. This Big Sur ecotour is a great
trip for people of all ages and abilities.
NOTE: For 2008/09 season, if landslides or fire close Highway
One between Lime Kiln State Park and Julia Pfeiffer-Burns State Park,
we will hike the coastal area of Pacific Valley/Sand Dollar Beach
instead of Julia Pfeiffer-Burns State Park in the morning.

The hike with you was very enjoyable. We could have walked the
same beach ourselves for free but would not have felt "the better" for
it with all the info and local flavor your tour included. Thanks!

| HIKING: Montaña de Oro Long |
 |
|
Montaña de Oro is a hiker's dream come true. This pristine
stretch of coastline just south of Morro Bay has miles of hiking
trails that feature unparalleled views and diverse coastal
habitats. Our guided day hike in the park is a challenging circuit
taking in coastal scrub,
chaparral, oak woodlands, riparian habitat and beaches. About the only
thing missing are the crowds you might expect to find with such first
class hiking in Central California!
Your knowledgeable guide will identify plants and
animals along the way, as well as set out a gourmet backcountry picnic lunch along the
trail. At
the end of this guided day hike you'll marvel at how much you've seen
and done in Central California.
