We so enjoyed our bike ride along the Pacific Coast Highway... We
want to compliment you on a wonderful experience from start to
fabulous finish. Your knowledge of the area and surroundings was
great. We loved the ride and the "no pressure" way of letting us
ride at our own pace... The gourmet picnic lunch was out of this
world. It was so pleasant and relaxing after the ride... If anyone asks
us what's fun out there in California, you can be sure we will point
them in your direction.

Upgrade half day bike tour to include an afternoon of wine tasting by vehicle
Our half 'n half trips (a morning of cycling followed by an afternoon of wine tasting by vehicle) have been so popular, we are now extending this program to all our half day trips. For any of our half day bicycle tours, you can add an afternoon of wine tasting by vehicle for an additional $40 per person. We typically visit up to three wineries nearby the areas where we cycle. Tasting fees for three wineries throughout the afternoon (including the winery where we lunch, if relevant) are included. Please contact our office at 888-873-5610 for details.
Our Private Exclusive Tour Guarantee
All of our half day biking trips are guaranteed to be private
exclusive affairs. Once we meet you at the start of the tour, we are
yours for the rest of the trip. Our guides will cater to your personal
preferences and can change the tour (within reason) to fit your
needs. No one else will be on the tour. Our minimum booking size is
two people and our prices vary according to your group size. Treat
yourself to our personalized service!
| BIKING: Avila Beach Wineries - Half Day (Family Friendly) |
 |
The Avila Beach area has just about everything to offer the casual
cyclist looking for a Pacific Coast bike holiday combined with wine
tasting. Our relatively easy route starts at the trailhead for the Bob
Jones City to the Sea Bike Trail and follows a scenic creek side path
all the way to picturesque Avila Beach and Alapay Cellars. A short
distance further along a classic beachside road, we come to Harford
Pier, where local fisherman offer us their catch and sea lions cavort
under the pier. Retracing part of our route inland, we detour up See
Canyon to Kelsey See Canyon Winery before ending with a gourmet picnic
lunch at Salisbury Vineyards and Fine Art Gallery. And even though there are wineries along the route, this is also a great trip for families. The riding is relatively easy with much of it is along a dedicated bike path and there are many non-winery attractions along the way.
With so much to see
and do in such a compact area, Avila Beach is truly an ideal
destination for the casual cyclist.

| BIKING: Edna Valley - Half Day |
 |
A half day Edna Valley cycle tour is the perfect way to spend the
morning if you enjoy cycling through vineyard areas. The Edna Valley
is a compact wine growing region just south of San Luis Obispo which
abounds in excellent wineries. Our loop route meanders through rolling
terrain in the heart of this picturesque valley with opportunities to
taste wines at Saucelito Canyon, Kynsi, and Baileyana, where we enjoy
a gourmet picnic lunch. After lunch a shuttle back to town (or your
nearby hotel) completes this San Luis Obispo guided bike tour.

| BIKING: Pacific Coast Highway - Half Day (Family Friendly) |
 |
We've cherry picked the best of the coastal riding in the area for
this Pacific Coast Highway bicycle tour. After meeting in Cambria (or
at your nearby hotel) we shuttle past Hearst Castle to Ragged
Point. Climbing on our bikes, we cycle down an isolated and pristine
stretch of the coast to Cambria, stopping to visit a colony of odd
looking elephant seals along the way.
With just a few hills, but no major climbs, this
Pacific Coast Highway bicycle tour is perhaps the easiest way to take
in some of the world class scenery by bike that the area has to
offer.

A picnic lunch at a picturesque seaside park caps off an ideal
Pacific Coast bike holiday.
For families (or others) interested in a shorter ride that minimizes riding with narrow shoulders, we can do a shortened 12 mile version of this trip. This version eliminates the somewhat hillier stretch on the northern part of the route where the shoulders tend to be much narrower, but still gets to all the main attractions of the ride.

What is included in the price of your half
day bike tours?
All our half day bicyle tours are fully guided
tours that include everything to make your time with us as pleasant
and care free as possible. Included in the price of the tour
are:
- Bicycle and helmet.
- Guide and route support.
- Printed directions for the ride and usually a map as well.
- Snacks and water.
- All necessary shuttles during the tour.
- Gourmet picnic lunch.
- Pick-up from nearby hotel (pick-ups at hotels not near the trip
can be arranged for an extra fee - contact us for details).
- Note that winery tasting fees (except at wineries where we picnic)
are typically not included in our half day bike trips. Winery
tasting fees are included in our
AM Bike / PM Wineries tours.
How do you determine difficulty ratings?
It is challenging to come up with a difficulty rating system that
is relevant for everyone. A very fit cyclist might consider our
"Moderately Strenuous" trips to not be hard at all, while someone
who exercises infrequently or is not used to cycling might find a
"Moderately Easy" tour to be quite a challenge. Our bicycle tour
rating system is based on the approximate fitness level of a casual
recreational cyclist who rides at least once per week and rides over
fifteen miles on a regular basis. If you ride less or more than
this, please adjust your expectations of the tour accordingly. To
flesh out the rather subjective difficulty rating, we also include
the distance for each tour and a terrain description. We are also
available by phone to discuss the difficulty of any of our tours.
What bicycles do you provide with your
tours?
We feature Norco Performance
Bikes.
You have the choice of a hybrid
bike with upright handlebars or a road bike with drop (racing style)
handlebars. Both bikes are designed for efficient travel on the road
and have Shimano components. Both styles have a map case attached to
the handlebars and the hybrids also have a rear rack bag to store
gear. We stock a variety of frame sizes to fit your needs. Please
supply your desired bike type, height and pedal preference when you
reserve a trip so we can pick the appropriate bike for you.
Will the guide ride with us?
All of our half day bike tours except the Pacific Coast ride are loops
designed so the guide can ride with the group. The Pacific Coast Half
Day trip is a one way trip down the coast, so the guide must stay with
vehicle to shuttle riders to the start and have the lunch ready at the
end.
