Santa Fe to Taos Sample Itinerary
Day One - Shuttle to Taos and warm up ride - 15 miles
After a post breakfast pick-up in Albuquerque, we'll shuttle to
Taos (about 2.5 hours) for lunch. Hopping on our bikes, we'll do a
short loop ride around the streets of Taos and get used to the
mountain air. Longer options include a ride to the Milicent Rogers
Museum and out to the gorge bridge over the Rio Grande.

Day Two - Enchanted Circle - 45, 70 or 86 miles
The Enchanted Circle is a classic loop ride out of Taos that climbs
up into the mountains and passes through stunning high country
scenery. The entire loop is 86 miles and has a lot of climbing (as
well as descending). The shorter options include shuttling at the
start and/or end of the ride. The 45 mile route would shuttle at the
start of the day to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and again shuttle
at the end of the ride from Cuesta back to Taos.

Day Three - The High Road - 45 or 65 miles
The High Road is another classic ride out of Taos, and features
high mesa country that evoke scenes from "The Milagro Beanfield
War," which was filmed along the route. The 65 mile option is all
the way from Taos to Rancho San Juan. The 45 mile option includes a
shuttle at the start to the top of US Hill and then rides the High
Road to Chimayo; finishing at the Santuario de Chimayo and shuttling
to Rancho San Juan.

Day Four - Ghost Ranch - 23 miles
Today we ride up the Rio Chama valley and across the desert high
country that inspired Georgia O'Keefe to Ghost Ranch. At the ranch
we can tour O'Keefe's home. From here we shuttle to Santa Fe (about
1 hour).

Day Five - Capital City Cruise - 30 or 50 miles
Our last full day of riding is a delightful loop through the scenic
country south of Santa Fe.
