Itinerary Description
The waters and dunes of Morro Bay at dusk are a magical places. As sunset approaches, explorers of the bay and dunes are rewarded with a feeling of quietude that is often hard to replicate earlier in the day. Our exact route on the water for this private tour is dependent on tides, weather conditions and recent wildlife activity. We might visit a seal haul out area, an oyster farm and/or the heron preserve. It’s always possible to see otters as well. Later in the tour we’ll explore the sandspit, pausing at the crest of the dunes to say goodbye to the sun before returning to the docks. On foggy days, the sunset won’t be as spectacular, but the sense of peace on the water as daylight fades is possibly even more dramatic.
Youth Discounts
For private tour groups of less than 12 people, youths age 5-12 get a 20% discount (minimum age 5). For groups of 12 or more people, it is a flat rate for each person in the group regardless of age.
Wind and Cancellations
If it's going to be a windy day, it's usually windier in the afternoon/early evening than in the morning. Sunset Paddles are sometimes (perhaps 10-15% of the time) cancelled due to wind. It is much rarer (almost never) for us to have to cancel morning tours due to winds.
