Itinerary Description

Our Morro Bay Private Two Hour Kayak Tour is an action packed guided kayak tour designed to optimize your time on the wildlife rich waters of Morro Bay National Estuary, which is protected from the open ocean by a four mile long sandspit. On the water, our exact kayaking route may vary depending on tides and recent wildlife activity on the bay, but includes possible visits to a seal haul out area, a heron rookery, and an oyster farm. There are always chances to see otters as well! While it is possible to work in a very quick visit to the sand dunes on the two hour private tour (kids love the dunes!), it usually means lessening the number of places we visit on the water. If you prefer to experience both the watery bay habitat and the dunes more in depth, we highly recommend our three hour private tour. This is a great trip for families!

Suggested Timing

We recommend doing private two hour kayak tours in the morning instead of the afternoon. The main reason is wind. It is usually (although not always) windier in the afternoon than in the morning. Spring tends to be our windiest season. Stronger winds can make kayaking more challenging. If your only option is an afternoon tour, we can schedule one, but be prepared for possibly windier and rougher conditions. In rare cases (especially in the spring), it may be necessary to cancel afternoon tours due to wind. We virtually never have to cancel morning tours due to wind (but sometimes adjust timing to meet earlier if stronger winds are predicted).

Youth Discounts

For private tour groups of less than 12 people, youths age 5-12 get a 20% discount and youths age 2-4 get a 50% discount. For groups of 12 or more people, it is a flat rate for each person in the group regardless of age.
